Nick Ferrio & His Feelings follow up the success of their self-titled, debut album with the release of a seven-inch record on 7th Fire Records. The two songs were produced by Greg Keelor of Blue Rodeo and recorded at his farm in Southern Ontario by engineer James McKenty. With Keelor's guidance, Nick Ferrio & His Feelings, along with pedal-steel guitarist Aaron Goldstein (City & Colour, Daniel Romano), at Keelor's Farm in early December 2012.
The A-Side, “Half the Time,” is a psychological thriller, exploring one man's realization that his love is unrequited and only exists within the confines of his fallible mind. The B-Side “The Other Side of Town,” examines what happens when love fades and jealousy takes root. Inspired by Porter Wagoner's psychological ballads, found in a posthumous collection entitled “the Rubber Room,” and Musicor-era George Jones, Nick Ferrio & His Feelings have recreated the timeless quality of the Golden-era of Country balladry in both writing and performance.
Nick Ferrio is a songwriter and performer from Peterborough, Ontario. His first album, “Introducing Nick Ferrio & His Feelings,” was released in September 2012 to glowing reviews in the Globe & Mail, Magnet, Exclaim!, and No Depression. His songs are influenced by many years performing country and folk music. He also performs as a member of The Burning Hell and Baby Eagle & The Proud Mothers. He continues to consistently write, record and perform throughout North America and Europe.
Nick Ferrio & His Feelings are: Emmott Clancy: Drums, Ryan Perks: Guitar, Sarah Theobald: Harmony Vocals & Liam Wilson: Bass. For this seven-inch recording, they were joined by Aaron Goldstein on pedal-steel, Greg Keelor on electric guitar and Ben Rough on piano and organ.
