Bart Furp I hardly ever listen to "this kind" of music, but when it's done so well it's impossible to resist. These kids should tour with Dwight Yoakam.

Not the best song on the album, but check out the lyrics to "Always Searching" for some unbeatable honesty. Favorite track: Always Searching.

schizosemia Nick's voice soars on probably my favourite track (all the tracks are worthy of favouriting) "Popular Flower." Humorous, heart felt, and full of great performances. Favorite track: Popular Flower.

Antoine Doyen It almost makes me like country music… which is quite a deal! Favorite track: Popular Flower.

Night Garden 02:35
I went looking around just to see if I had found the path to your night garden I looked high and I looked low but it was dark, so I don't know if I chose the right path to be on Other pastures of green don't mean anything to me No, I wait for your night garden Your branches and vines how I wish they were mine Oh, to be in your garden again But, I wait and I find that the path just winds and winds will I ever see your garden again? All these cities and all the towns oh, the places I've found none compare to your garden for me Other pastures of green don't mean anything to me No, I wait for your night garden Your branches and vines how I wish they were mine Oh, to be in your garden again

You - you're a popular flower and you grow everyday did you know that you're the state flower of the garden state, Tennesse But I - Im no garden flower I'm a cut when you shave I'm the one who just barely makes it at the last moment - before it's too late I want to go where the Iris' grow from Knoxville all the way to Memphis I want to stay with those flowers all day so I can stay with Iris You - you're the Greek word for rainbow you're a spectrum of light in the sky you're the messenger between Earth and Heaven and you appear at the end of a rainbow to say everything is alright But I - I'm no summer rainbow I'm the act of stealing away I'm the one who follows a rainbow to pocket the pot of gold for another rainy day I want to go where the Iris' grow from Knoxville all the way to Memphis I want to stay with those flowers all day so I can stay with Iris

I’m always searching for a way To say the things I want to say If you and I were left alone Instead of talking on the phone I’ve tried to speak to you in code So that no one else will know But the band’s all in the van And they always understand I’m always searching for a way To say the things I’d like to say The little details on my mind Are just static on the line I’ve tried it underneath my breath But you can’t get the full effect I’ve tried to whisper in your ear But that’s not what you want to hear You want to hear me say What I really want to say x3 You want to hear me say That I want to fuck you

You can twist my arm in a bathroom stall Search me, strip me bare and all Ask me questions or shoot point blank Slap my wrists for the mistakes I make You can speak with words I don’t understand In a foreign tongue, in a foreign land You can walk me over to some Swiss bank To walk back out with fist full of Franks But I am a free man, Switzerland I am a rock that can’t be stopped I am a free man, Switzerland I am rock that can’t be stopped Not by some Swiss cop You can keep me up way past dawn But tomorrow morning we’ll be rolling on To another town to sing another song If you come looking we’ll already be gone You can remind me I’m a long way from home Laugh at my nation - the place I come from But know your scolding and your jail cell Are just another story for me to tell ‘Cause, I am a free man, Switzerland I am a rock that can’t be stopped I am a free man, Switzerland I am rock that can’t be stopped Not by some Swiss cop

Otonabee 02:55
I went for a walk with my bride to be We strolled along the banks of the Otonabee And what should I see there, with my bride to be A floatin’ in the waters of the Otonabee? Out there in the water, drifting fast and free Was the golden ring of my bride to be Hanging off the branch of a hollow tree Travelling down the banks of the Otonabee To fetch the wedding ring of my bride to be I stretched out from a rock to that old hollow tree But to my surprise the rock was covered in algee And I slipped beneath the water of the Otonabee I reached for the hand of my bride to be For I feared that I may drown in the water, you see She uttered not a word and pulled her hand from me And stepped back from the banks of the Otonabee I went for a walk with my bride to be We strolled along the banks of the Otonabee And what should I see there, with my bride to be A floatin’ in the waters of the Otonabee?

This story’s long, this story’s old This story is better left untold Some might say, let this story fade away To the grave, where the story ends Twists and turns, foes and friends With no amends just odds and ends Left untied The night she died or disappeared Drinks were drank, drinks were cheered No one knew something that bad Could happen here A fight broke out, a lover’s quarrel But for him and her that was normal They went separate ways He went south, She went north: She never returned And now she’s gone, Long gone And he’s singing his haunted songs About her ghost, and I hope Time can forgive his troubled mind Some time, some time The cops attempted to make contact With the driver of a Pontiac Word came down after a couple of days He’d been found Twine was tied above a wooden chair An awful stench hung in the air A swaying creak echoed loud and proud For anyone to hear Maybe she lived and ran away Got a job and changed her name But that’s all the same It’s neither here and neither there A fight broke out, a lover’s quarrel But for him and her that was normal They went separate ways He went south, She went north: She never returned And now she’s gone, Long gone And he’s singing his haunted songs About her ghost, and I hope Time can forgive his troubled mind Some time, some time

Who’s that coming through the woods? Who’s that coming through the woods? Looking through her scope It’s a bear she surely hopes Who’s that coming through the woods? Mary shot her husband that evening Said she thought he was a bear She looked down the barrel of that rifle She did not see her husband standing there She did not see her husband standing there So, who’s that coming through the woods? Who’s that coming through the woods? It’s Mary Harshbarger But her husband is not with her Who’s that coming through the woods? Mary returned to the hunting cabin The cabin cook was the first one that she saw She said, “I’ve shot my beloved I shot my husband, and my whole world. I shot my husband, and my whole world” Who’s that coming through the woods? Who’s that coming through the woods? Mary thought she saw a bear And shot her husband standing there Who’s that coming through the woods? Mary returned to Newfoundland For her crime she had to face the law But since his death she’d married another She held the hand of her brother in law She’d married her brother in law Who’s that coming through the woods? Who’s that coming through the woods? It’s Mary - she’s returned To stand trial – it’s her turn Who’s that coming through the woods? The judge and jury all had the same question “How could a man be mistaken for a bear?” A man walks in an upright position There is no making a mistake there: a man walks nothing like a bear

In Berlin bears live in Kollnischer Park There’s a pair living there They’re close to my heart They search all day For a way over the wall While outside their cage Children play with soccer balls And the bears watch them run Play and have fun And hope for a ball to come over the wall So they can slash it with their claws Bite it with their jaws Destroy the soccer ball In a feat of brute strength But mostly they spend the day Waiting for dark When the sun goes down The children leave Kollnischer park And I wonder if it were like this on Noah’s ark Just a pair of bears spending their days In the dark On the back of some boat With all the sheeps and goats Waiting for a hand to set them free on dry land So they can slash it with their claws Bite it with their jaws Destroy the herbivores In a feat of brute strength Tear them limb from limb Pull all the meat from them Feast like kings of the forrest Back atop the food chain In Berlin bears live in Kollnischer Park There’s a pair living there They’re close to my heart

When we sang together It felt like we could sing forever We sang country songs And we sang them all night long When we sang together No matter if hard times come We always had a song for them If I didn’t know the words All I had to do was hum Because we were singing together Then you said it’s time to change the band Said I played with too heavy a hand Said you didn’t like my songs Or maybe I got it wrong But now we don’t sing together So, when I sing harmony There is no one singing with me These old country songs weren’t meant to be sung alone But now we don’t sing together
